A WARM WELCOME

Hi, my name is Carolina, and a very warm welcome to Talking Therapy. I provide integrative psychotherapy and counselling to adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship difficulties, burnout, stress, PTSD, or major life transitions. Sessions are available online worldwide, and in person in the Surrey Hills, Guildford, and Central London.

I am a BACP-accredited integrative therapist, offering bespoke integrative psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching tailored to your unique needs. Whether you are seeking long-term therapy, short-term counselling (minimum 12 sessions), or a one-off single-session therapy, I offer a confidential and supportive space to explore your emotions, behaviours, relationships, and the complexities of life. I work with both personal and professional challenges, whether you are healing from the past, navigating the present, or preparing for the future.

I work with women, men, students, couples, and private healthcare insurance referrals.

WHAT I OFFER

I offer long-term therapy, short-term counselling (+12 sessions), or a single session therapy (one-off goal-oriented), and a confidential, safe and stable sanctuary to explore complex emotions, behaviours, relationships, and life's complexities, with compassion and understanding. Whether you’re navigating emotional and physical pain, destructive relationship patterns, childhood wounding, or monumental life events, therapy with me serves as a unique relationship alliance characterised by knowledge, understanding, empathy, trust, and confidentiality. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Clients often see a lifting of symptoms within the first couple of months or so, and continuous improvement thereafter.

A normal part of being human is experiencing challenges in life, but sometimes those challenges may feel overwhelming. When life events bring about pain or distress, they may prompt us to question our fundamental beliefs; we may begin to reassess our habitual responses and explore alternative ways of being. As we don’t choose our genetic and developmental background, the journey of self-exploration can be challenging, perplexing, and intricate. Research indicates that seeking professional therapy significantly increases our likelihood of success in the recovery process. Psychotherapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience, enabling you to overcome emotional, relational, or social challenges, to bring the unconscious into the conscious, to improve your mental health, and to fulfil your incredible potential.

INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC THERAPY

Whether you’re looking for a long-term commitment, or short-term engagement in +12-weeks, or a single session therapy, my Integrative approach is tailored to meet your uniqueness and support you on your journey towards holistic well-being. I take a pragmatic clinical therapeutic approach, which is characterised by empathy, warmth, insight, and a commitment to empowering psychological resilience in my clients.

My strengths lie in my capacity to build strong relationships with my clients, whereby you feel understood and supported, whilst simultaneously adapting my intellectual rigour, clinical expertise, and psychotherapeutic knowledge in a way that is best suited to meet your specific needs. Together, we can explore the root causes of your pain, challenges, past experiences, and discover new ways for approaching challenging situations, providing practical coping strategies that will support your psychological well-being. It's like exploring the ocean's depths while also riding the waves. It addresses the whole you - mind, body, and soul. It's not just about symptoms, it's about your overall well-being and happiness, empowering you to be an active participant in your own healing journey.

Integrative therapy is like the eclectic playlist of therapeutic approaches - I combine different clinically evidence-based methods and draw from a wide range of psychological and clinical therapies, tailored to suit the unique needs of each person. This includes taking into account your specific issues, symptoms, personality, and preferences. Integrative therapy is both versatile and flexible, drawing on various psychological theories and therapeutic models to help you explore and manage your symptoms in a way that feels right for you.

My Integrative therapeutic style is relational and empowering with a strong leaning towards Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Attachment theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Transactional Analysis (TA), Existential theory, Mindfulness, Compassion therapy, Somatic, and Trauma Neurobiological approaches.

WHAT RESULTS CAN YOU EXPECT?

The therapeutic process is a deeply personal and transformative journey that is unique for each of us. It requires dedication, effort, consistency, and a willingness to explore one's inner world, including thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviours, and experiences. While therapy does not offer guaranteed outcomes, it can open the door to positive changes, such as:

  • Develop calmer ways of relating to oneself

  • Explore current life challenges and past experiences while building resilience for the future

  • Gain insight into patterns that may be contributing to emotional or relational difficulties

  • Recognise triggers behind unhelpful thoughts, feelings, or behaviours

  • Develop greater awareness of how emotional and neurobiological processes influence your experience

  • Learn to observe thoughts and feelings with greater perspective

  • Experiment with new ways of responding to situations and relationships

  • Work towards a greater sense of balance across different areas of life

  • Challenge limiting beliefs or patterns that may have developed earlier in life

  • Clarify personal values and goals that feel meaningful to you

  • Develop deeper self-understanding and self-acceptance

  • Approach life’s challenges with greater openness and flexibility

The changes you experience will be shaped by your needs and circumstances. This can include a noticeable reduction in symptoms, a stronger sense of self, more freedom in how you meet challenges, and the confidence to move forward with clarity and purpose.

Therapy & Counselling

Couples Therapy

My 12-week marriage breakthrough programme focuses on nurturing self-awareness, empathy, compassion, trust, and connection within your relationship. I guide you in understanding your dynamics, addressing communication difficulties, attachment issues, behavioural patterns, or sexual tensions, while providing a safe space for both partners to share openly and work through the underlying factors behind conflict.

Online Therapy

I am well-versed in providing counselling and psychotherapy from the comfort and safety of your own home. One of the major advantages of online therapy is that you have control over your environment and space. It is highly effective, efficient and convenient, particularly if you have a busy schedule and are short on time. You will need reliable technology with a good sized computer screen, in a private, quiet space, where you cannot be overheard.
